Module A1-1 “Xitsonga · Sounds and writing · tonal phrases” (weeks 1–4) has 4 Guided lessons. Do one each week and use the Path’s routine and resources for the rest of your study time.
Each Guided lesson is a 20-minute anchor for its week. The Path’s weekly hours also include practice and resources.

192 study weeks, usually spread across 4–5 years with breaks and consolidation. At 7–14 hours/week, this plan schedules about 1,344–2,688 hours; it does not predict time to fluency.

Connected speech, complex syntax and unscripted listening.
Register, cultural pragmatics, idioms and precise output.
Introduce yourself, exchange greetings, understand slow familiar questions, read short notices and write 5–8 connected simple sentences.
Input: 30–90 second dialogues and illustrated texts with a transcript.
Output: A 90-second introduction and a 60-word message with basic needs.
Practice balance: 70% input / 30% output. Build a personally useful core; start with 5 new items a day and reduce when reviews accumulate.
